At nine years old, Isla Fisher was appearing in Australian TV commercials. Isla Fisher landed some small parts in the small Australian TV series "Bay Cove" (1993) (aka "Bay City"). This led to a bigger part for Isla Fisher in the series "Paradise Beach" (1993).

When Paradise Beach ended, Isla Fisher landed a role in the long running, all time famous, largest Australian soap opera Home and Away (1988). In 1994, Isla Fisher signed up to play the character Shannon Reed in Home and Away for three years.  

During the three short years in Home and Away, Isla Fisher led her character, Shannon Reed, from being an unheard of girl to a sexy red head.  

While working on Home and Away, Isla Fisher indulged in another of her passions, writing. Isla Fisher published two best selling novels, "Seduced By Fame" and "Bewitched". Isla Fisher 's mother is an author herself and she played an important role in supporting Isla Fisher 's passion for writing.
